With each trip, its batch of photos published on social networks! But which are the most Instagrammed European cities? The vacation rental search engine, HomeToGo, finally provides the answer by publishing its latest ranking (1). And the numbers are sometimes dizzying …
The proof with the first place, delighted by London, which alone counts no less than 120 million hashtags. Closely followed by Paris, with its 100 million publications. And if the French capital does not take the lead in the ranking, it is indeed one of its monuments that is the most Instagrammed in Europe. It is, not surprisingly, the Eiffel Tower, with 2.8 million hashtags shared. Barcelona took 3rd place on the podium, with just over 47 million hashtags.

Two French cities in the top 15
The following capitals are on the heels of the Catalan city: Rome first, with nearly 45 million hashtags, then Berlin (36 million) then Madrid (31 million). Other much less famous cities are also doing well. This is particularly the case of Odessa, in Ukraine, which obtains 11th place with more than 6 million publications listed on Instagram, or Benidorm ( 13th), with a million hashtags attached to photos of the seaside resort. Spain, which is also the big winner of the prize list, with five cities represented.
Finally, we note the presence of a second French city in the top 15: Nice, which takes 14th place in the ranking with no less than 427,000 hashtags.
